Save Money on Your Healthcare in St. Charles IL
I got the below quote from an online post. It made me think about our nation's challenges with what we all think of as health. When I was a little chiropractor, I learned the World Health Organization's definition of health:
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
In comparison, the dictionary definition is more in line with modern medicine, "the state of being free from illness or injury." I feel this is the lowest bar on the Healthy Scale.
All of us pay more for our health insurance in St. Charles IL. We get higher deductibles and copays. We receive smaller doctor networks and worsening coverage. How do we save money on our health and healthcare?
The Definition of "Health" in St. Charles IL
I need modern medicine as much as you do. But, we have all been sold the idea that medical care is health. My opinion, our present healthcare system is defined as early disease identification and treatment. It's good to know when we are getting sick, or what to do when we are sick. However, do not confuse that with being healthy.
I challenge you to think about the World Health Organization's definition in relation to your own health. You can expand that farther to consider what it means to have well-being. Decide where you are in your journey to achieve a higher level of health. Make a plan to be better. Being optimally healthy and well, is how you save money in our present 'healthcare' system.
"Wellbeing is about a healthy body and a healthy mind.
Healthy doesn't only mean absence of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, arthritis etc.
Being really healthy means you have the freedom to eat foods without feeling bloated, cramping or guilt.
It means being vibrant and buzzing with energy.
It means sleeping peacefully at night, and feeling refreshed, ready to take on the day.
It means knowing deep within you that no matter what, you can handle the situation and emerge victorious no matter what the day throws at you.
It means being happy to the core.
Do you think you are healthy?"
Feel free to call me with questions on your journey. I am on my own quest, and have learned some things along the way.
